This past weekend was the ever popular and fun Farm Chicks Show!!
Technically I was working the show, but I had so much fun, you can hardly call it work. There were many friends there that I only get to see a couple times a year, and it was such a treat. This is the creme de la creme show as far as vendors and product go. Of course I found many a treasure, as I am sure everyone did. Here are some of the lovely lovely booths…..
The sweet and ultra talented Lisa Souers……
some lovely vintage clock pieces from another vendor (sorry, cannot remember who, comment if you know please, and I will update)
All of us Pacific Northwesterners can relate to and repeat this sign, as we have be drowning in rain lately….
My dear sweet friends from Today’s Country Store, Amy, Kris and Me
They made these wonderful and whimsical doll assemblages to die for!! Each one had a theme and a name….
I love this one’s face, too sweet…..
Kris and Amy told me they made this one with me in mind, a foofy Miss Pearl……
So of course I had to buy her!!! Kris and Amy snapped a shot of me with her before I left their booth to take Miss Pearl across the mountains to her new home. ( Yay, another creepy doll head to scare my family with!!)
I was so lucky to see many of my Oregon friends like dear sweet Robin, shown here in Joy’s booth. She tried on this gorgeous vintage prom dress from Lisa’s booth, I told her I was going to beat her if she didn’t buy it. Luckily she did, so no one got hurt in the making of this blog post.
I, too, found a beautiful vintage prom dress in Lisa’s booth and added it to my ever growing collection of the dresses. I like to call it a business purchase, but my friends are now calling me a prom dress whore.
This is one of the booths that brought me to my knees, the beautiful Bella Shabby.
I bought three of these beautiful crinolines, and wore two of them that day!!! (Another wonderful business write off! Thank goodness I need costumes for my photography clients to wear!! )
Retreat Designs, and their lovely booth…..
The best smelling booth award goes to Cedar House Soaps…. lavender and berries wafted through the air, drawing you close…
I missed out on the wonderful Feed Bag Totes in Elaine’s Booth, but at least I got to meet her finally in person!! Just as sweet as I imagined. My travelmate Miss Jo was able to snag the last Tote. I thought about sneaking it away from her as she slept soundly at night, but she’s just too sweet, I couldn’t do it. Darn it….. I guess I will just have to beg Elaine to make more so I can buy one…
Here is Sweet Miss Cindy Sunshine’s booth. Otherwise known as the queen of TARTE. I love her “designer” look and how she is incorporating her signature yellow into everything. It just gives the space that va~ va~ va voom. And if you know Cindy at all, she is all about va~ va~ va voom.
This lovely mannequin and custom jewelery came out of the booth of the very talented Tippy Stockton, aka Patricia.
Wow….this post has so much jam packed into it, I feel like we should break for a half time show!!! And that’s just what I am going to show you!!
Saturday evening was the party of the century, held at Celeste’s beautiful restaurant Chaps. But what made it extra special this year was the unveiling of her latest baby, CAKE. Cake is a new restaurant/bakery attached to Chaps and it is truly a one of a kind establishment. The proprietors, Celeste and Dan, are some of the hardest working people I have ever met. They have really created something phenomimal for the whole communtiy to enjoy for a really long time. The night was mesmerizing, from the decor to the food, and even the choice for live entertainment and some very special guest entertainers.
I just noticed that my choice of hair accesory, the pom pom, matched the festive decor of the party, totally an accident!! It looks like I am wearing the party pom poms in my hair instead! ha ha ha!!
The food……ah, the food…..divine.
Did I mention the signature drinks?? Like the Barn House?? Oh, it was heaven….I have since had dreams of sipping this concoction, it’s creaminess, and sweet tang I cannot forget.
I finally caught up with the girl of the hour!! Miss Serena the Farm Chick! She did an amazing job pulling off such a large and wonderful event. She does so much of the work herself, I think that’s the secret to how she stays looking so young, thin and pretty.
(me and serena)
More of Celeste and Dan’s wonderful party……..
And here are the special guest entertainers that they had for us all! This wonderful family performed the Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner for us while they played their violins. It was so sweet it brought a tear to many of our eyes.
All in all, it was a wonderful event from start to finish.
I had a little surprise of my own, I was able to meet up with long time blog friend and swap partner, Miss Sandra Blanks, who drove all the way from Tennessee with her husband to Spokane, Washington to see the Farm Chicks show!! Lucky for me, I was able to meet up with her and we all had a wonderful brunch together at the Davenport Hotel. (If ever in the Spokane area, it is the place to stay, so unique and they have a fabulous room rate for the show!! )
((I think it just did enough P.R.for the hotel, maybe I should get some free drink coupons or something, right?))
Sandra, Me and Jo Packham
The beautiful apron I am wearing in the photo was a precious gift to me handmade by Sandra. Many of you may be fimiliar with her work from Flickr or if you are lucky enough you have participated in a swap with her. She is one of the only people I know who hand crochets her own stunning lace!!
Thank you Sandra, I will treasure it always!!
Also, a special thanks to Miss Jo for being such and awesome travelmate!!!
Well everyone, it has taken me hours to edit these photos and get this post up, it is now getting late, and I better get some sleep. I hope you all enjoyed the Farm Chicks Show!!
See you there next year !!
