Where Women Cook in NYC!

After a 19 hour delay in Chicago mayhem, I am back from the wonderful Where Women Cook  magazine launch extravaganza!!

It was so inspiring to see how many people turned up for the event and to support the wonderful women of the magazine. There were hundreds of people and the line stayed steady throughout the whole event, it was an amazing show of support. It was not uncommon to hear stories of traveling mother daughter duos from Texas, friends from Oregon and fans of the featured women flying cross country. There were aprons everywhere, as you can see, and it was so heartwarming to be surround by the love and support of all the women who shared the aprons for the event. In the top lefthand corner is wining apron by Heidi Wallingford, and in the bottom right, Amy Duncan’s winning apron. There were so many gorgeous entries and moving stories, I don’t know how a winner could be chosen amongst them!

I felt so honored to be there and to share the experience with the women of the magazine, and all of those who came in support of the magazine. I was so happy to get to see so many of my friends, and  get to meet others whom I have had long time internet history with, but had yet to meet in person. I especially was excited to meet Jenny Heid and Aaron Nieradka, of Everyday is a Holiday. I have known Jenny for years now and had never had the pleasure of meeting up with her in person, and I am so happy that opportunity finally came, they are incredible people.

Jo of course was a nervous wreck, offering up her baby to the public, but things could not have gone smoother and everyone had a great time celebrating.

I cannot thank her enough for the amazing opportunities she has given me this year. I also need to tell my roomate, Serena, that NYC would ot have been the same without you! You are such a great travelmate, and I am happy to call you friend. Also, thank you to Kecia from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful gift yo gave me, I will treasure it always. And my dear friend Lorraine, you always make it hard to say goodbye!

And last but not least, thank you to all new friends and old, you fill my heart with gratitude. I wish everyone could have been there to celebrate with me, but I carried you all in my heart……

xoxo, Tiffany

Today I thought I would do something different.

I am asking you to tell the story of this girl.  Tap into your inner creative writer and tell us what do these photos say to you?

a runaway lover? damsel in distress?  circus side show?

Let your imagination run free…… Let’s have some fun!

Leave your story in the comments below,  I can’t wait to hear this girl’s fate!!

Thank you to all for your overwhelming response to this contest. So many beautiful aprons were entered, so many inspirational and touching stories were shared and so many works of art made. We truly appreciate your part in the making of this magazine.

As I travel to the launch next week, I will have you all on my minds, and I will be sure to take lots of photos of all the lovely apron entries. A big blog post is in the works for Amuse Bouche about the aprons, and possibly even an article in the magazine as well!

Take your Photos to the Next Level

Hello Monday!

It was really hard to get up this morning after an entire week off. Between the snow days and the holiday, around here there was a whole lot of sleeping in and relaxing, and a bunch of goofing off too!

To kick start your Monday morning, I am featuring a link to a wonderful photographer’s emporium.

If you aren’t already familiar with NicoleV.com , then you must go and have a look. I use her products on a daily basis in my photography editing, and it is a fabulous and easy way to take you photos to the next level.

Here’s what I mean….

This photo was edited using her Color Actions, a set of 5 different tools that you load into Photoshop and can run as actions on your photos. You can adjust every action to your liking, and they are so fun to use!  They really take your photo to the next level. You can see what a difference it makes in color, clarity and you can even add a soft glow .

Right now, on her site http://shop.nicholev.com  she is running a marvelous Cyber Monday promo offering 30% of her actions. This is a significant savings!

Nicole’s site also offers free downloads and more before and after photos to really see how her actions can make a difference on your photos.

Enjoy!

xoxo,
