After a 19 hour delay in Chicago mayhem, I am back from the wonderful Where Women Cook magazine launch extravaganza!!
It was so inspiring to see how many people turned up for the event and to support the wonderful women of the magazine. There were hundreds of people and the line stayed steady throughout the whole event, it was an amazing show of support. It was not uncommon to hear stories of traveling mother daughter duos from Texas, friends from Oregon and fans of the featured women flying cross country. There were aprons everywhere, as you can see, and it was so heartwarming to be surround by the love and support of all the women who shared the aprons for the event. In the top lefthand corner is wining apron by Heidi Wallingford, and in the bottom right, Amy Duncan’s winning apron. There were so many gorgeous entries and moving stories, I don’t know how a winner could be chosen amongst them!
I felt so honored to be there and to share the experience with the women of the magazine, and all of those who came in support of the magazine. I was so happy to get to see so many of my friends, and get to meet others whom I have had long time internet history with, but had yet to meet in person. I especially was excited to meet Jenny Heid and Aaron Nieradka, of Everyday is a Holiday. I have known Jenny for years now and had never had the pleasure of meeting up with her in person, and I am so happy that opportunity finally came, they are incredible people.
Jo of course was a nervous wreck, offering up her baby to the public, but things could not have gone smoother and everyone had a great time celebrating.
I cannot thank her enough for the amazing opportunities she has given me this year. I also need to tell my roomate, Serena, that NYC would ot have been the same without you! You are such a great travelmate, and I am happy to call you friend. Also, thank you to Kecia from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful gift yo gave me, I will treasure it always. And my dear friend Lorraine, you always make it hard to say goodbye!
And last but not least, thank you to all new friends and old, you fill my heart with gratitude. I wish everyone could have been there to celebrate with me, but I carried you all in my heart……
xoxo, Tiffany
