How Weddings Inspire

Weddings aren’t just for those who are engaged anymore……….

What I mean is, one can gain inspiration from weddings in so many ways. As a photographer, even though I do not specialize in weddings, I do shoot them and I am constantly finding great ideas for portraiture, color schemes, fashion and design from them.

Take this recent wedding I shot for a beautiful young couple, and dear friends of mine. Many weddings take influence from specific themes and build upon that. This young lady is full of grace and charm, amd her wedding mentor was none other than the fabulous Audrey Hepburn, and more specifically the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Themes can be taken quite literally, but rather when they are subdued and alluded too is when they can be the most impactful. Take for example this bride’s color palette that includes the undeniably recognizable Tiffany Blue.

Put pure white and palest of pinks together with the Tiffany Blue and you have a winning classic combination that not only created a beautiful wedding, but could also inspire home decor and more.

Paired here with crystal accents, the elegance is taken to a whole new level.

Here is a great example of how these colours from the wedding have been incorporated into an elegant holiday dressed home.  Here the accent colour for the holiday is gold, a little better fitting than the pink.

Here the colour palette is translated into two beautiful master bedrooms. One very feminine, the other very contemporary with a modern feminine flair. By looking through wedding magazines and popular weddings sites, one can gain much insight into upcoming trends not only for those seeking out wedding ideas, but those looking for fresh ideas for home decor.

Love love your photography! I do often get inspiration from weddings, so many ideas to use for my work that is not related to weddings. I made few soldered shadow boxes that were inspired by weddings. Ciao Rita mammabellarte

My daughter who is 15, loves to look through tthe wedding magazines with me, and we rate the dresses on a scale of one to ten. Although I am wishing she waits quite awhile, I sure can’t wait to plan hers either!

What beautiful pictures you have taken. Your friends are so lucky to have had you as their photographer.
I have no weddings to plan in my near future…my daughter BETTER not be getting married anytime soon! But, I sure can’t wait for the day I can plan for it. It will be so much fun. I am always dreaming of all the different settings and color schemes. I wish I could do mine all over again using some of these great inspirational ideas. I still would have the same groom, though :)
Thanks for sharing your beautiful shots

There is just something about that Tiffany Box Blue that makes a girl squeal with delight whether on a jewelry box or on a wall. It is definitely one of my favorites.
