This is the first time I’ve commented, but I’m obsessed (this month) with chicks. I have 14 of them living in my dining room while my husband is desperately trying to build me the coop of my dreams. Your coop is how I found your site! I too live on a little farm in Washington, but down south between Graham and Eatonville (Kapowsin). I am obsessed with all things Anne of Green Gables, in fact if Gilbert Blythe walked into the room, I would have to kick my husband to the curb. I am in a fevered romance with Summer and being a farm girl. I was raised in downtown Puyallup, and I teach all year, so like you and your family in the past, I have to cram all my farming into July and a couple weeks of August. I have to admit Charles may be a bit more of a mix than just jack and antelope. Perhaps a touch of squirrel? He did look larger before seeing him on the wall. Didn’t he get xrayed at airport? Tiffany, I love Fancy, I feel she is a “she” her antlers are just who she is and she is rockin it. I just got recieved my first gift for my new chicks and coop, wait for it… a Disco Ball! I am so excited. It will be the perfect addition to my coop. As far as collections go, I am a big collector of old bowls, figures of dogs, bird nests and plastic snowglobes from all around the states, someday I hope from all over the world. Tiffany – you are mad! In all the right ways of course! I am from good ol’ London originally – born and bred as we say and miss it dearly. There is just something about the quintesential brits – not all pomp and circumstance thankfully – but there is definitely that ‘feeling’ you get when you are there. I’m so glad you like us and want to move there! I am actually going ‘home’ on Tuesday to see me mum and am very excitied! She lives in a little town on the south coast called Peacehaven – and it is! Next time you are in the U.K. make sure to take the train to Brighton to see the pier and the south downs – nothing quite like it in the world! I found your blog when I was looking for inspiration for a fancy chicken coop. Yours is beautiful. I just received my chicks yesterday and I am on my way.
